St. Mary’s Chapel under POLONIA protection
With gratitude I welcomed the World Polonia Council request and the Congress resolution to resume protection over the construction and decoration of the St. Mary’s Chapel at the Temple of Divine Providence.
Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz Archbishop Metropolitan of Warsaw
The Chapel will be situated in the south-western part of the Temple of Divine Providence (aleja Rzeczypospolitej flank). Looking out of the altar, it is on its right-hand side. Next to the Chapel’s entrance the relics of St. John Paul II will be placed, as the Pope always appreciated the role of Polonia worldwide.
The area of the place, where the St. Mary’s Chapel be built, is 220 square meters. Today, the walls and the floor are in an early, rough condition and only basic wiring has been done. Six huge windows give a lot of potential for splendid stained glass decoration. The selected interior design concept (not decided yet) may include frescos or paintings hanging on the walls. Obviously, the altar will stand in the central part of the Chapel. There is a room for sculptures and other artifacts.
We hope that with Polonia’s support from all over the world, the participants of the next, Sixth Congress, will be able to look at the beautiful Chapel with donators’ pride. We hope they will see works of art by top artists and they will pray to the Christ’s Mother image. To make it happen, in the next few years we must complete the fundraising to finish the Chapel and to finance top-notch works of art to decorate it.
We believe that Polonia, who have been Semper Fidelis, will contribute to the great cause.
Be our donator and contribute to the construction of the St. Mary’s Chapel at the Temple of Divine Providence.
